Following the disruptions caused by the pandemic last year, Hedgeley Women’s Institute is now able to announce that it has again fully opened its doors.
A new Programme of Events has just been published.
Have you joined in with the knit/crochet a poppy for Remembrance Day 2021?
The project – instigated by Hedgeley Women’s Institute – has already inspired several people to have a go at knitting or crocheting woollen poppies to be displayed in the Powburn Community Garden, near the Breamish Valley War Memorial, for the Remembrance Day 2021.
I know that November is a long way off, but this is one thing we can plan for.

Last night (11 Sep 2018), Hedgeley Women’s Institute had a visit and talk from a representative of Northumbria Blood Bikes.
Several members were surprised to learn that Northumbria Blood Bikes is a purely voluntary organisation that relies solely on charitable donations to carry out its work.
The new programme of events for the Hedgeley Women’s Institute is now available.

Following on from last year’s appeal to donate useful items for homeless people, Hedgeley Women’s Institute are once more appealing for donations.
Any useful items are needed, e.g.
Hedgeley WI celebrated the Queen’s 90th Birthday by organising a Tea in the Garden, planned for Saturday 23 April 2016. As it happened, the weather was poor on Saturday so the venue was changed to the Breamish Hall.
Several members of the local community came together to celebrate.
There was plenty of good home-made food available, including sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and Pimm’s.
