Our ancient heritage
Situated on Beanly Moor is The Ringses: a small Iron Age hillfort. This fortified enclosure is made from three not-quite-circular concentric banks and ditches, measuring about 46m by 43m at the widest point.

I’m sure all, residents of the Breamish Valley will be fully aware of the existence of the remains of one of our nearest Iron Age hillforts – Brough Law Hillfort.
Well, on Monday of this week (8 January 2018), I took a walk to the top of the approximately 288m high Brough Law to take another look at the remarkable ruins.
