Remembrance Day Remembered 2022
Remembering Remembrance Day
Local people took the opportunity to remember those from the Breamish Valley who lost their lives in the two world wars at the Remembrance Day Service 2022.
A service led by Revd. Velda Nicholson was held in the Powburn Community Garden, with people gathered around the Breamish Valley War Memorial.
Traditional and familiar Northumberland tunes were played by piper Pete Taylor of Percy’s Cross, and the names of the fallen were read aloud by Robbie Burn.
A wreath was laid by May Wilson on behalf of the Hedgeley Parish Council and a wreath laid by Noreen Birnie on behalf of the Hedgeley Women’s Institute.
