End of winter Powburn Skies

The end-of-winter light at night creates some wonderful Powburn skies.

End-of-winter sunset creating stunning Powburn skies

Two oak trees are clearly visible in the above image. But my favourite oak tree is the one shown below. It stands alone on the margins of a field near Branton – and I never tire of photographing it. It, of course, looks different throughout the year – not only as it grows and sheds its leaves – but as the light changes. Again, the end-of-winter light made for a spectacular image. You can still see the snow on the Cheviots following the recent blows of the Beast from the East.
