Lots of rain today, so I couldn’t get out on my bike for my usual ride along the Breamish Valley. So, I took a look at some of the photos I’d taken a couple of weeks ago and found these…

Rainbows at Reaveley

Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year. The light can be warm and inviting and the low sun creates some wonderful shadows in the landscape. Of course, the weather’s extremely changeable and we can have downpours in a matter of moments.

Tribute to John Taylor

Remembering John Taylor

John Taylor, who served as a councillor for more than 28 years, died peacefully at home last week aged 77, after a short illness.

John represented the Longhoughton ward of Northumberland County Council. During a political career of more than 28 years he had served as leader of the former Alnwick District Council and also as a parish councillor. John was active on the district council from 1986 to 2009 and had been a serving member of Northumberland County Council since 2001.

Antiques Centre Re-launch

RE-LAUNCHES WEDNESDAY 2 APRIL 2014!

Just on the A697 in Powburn at the Hedgeley Services a change is underway. The long-term organiser of the Antiques Centre will now be focussing her attention on the Village Tea Room & Emporium in Powburn. But that doesn’t mean that the Centre is going to close. Instead, it’s going to be run as a co-operative of existing traders. I met with Tracy Fiddes to find out more.

A697 Closed – accident – 21 Jan 2014

The A697 Powburn is closed following a road traffic collision involving a heavy lorry which has left the carriageway. 

Police are at the scene with diversions in place whilst specialist vehicle recovery is being arranged.

The road remains closed in both directions. Emergency services are in attendance.
