Thanks to Robbie Burn for smartening up the Hedgeley Parish Council noticeboard outside the Plough Inn in Powburn.
Robbie’s given it a new lick of varnish that should keep it looking smart and protected from the elements for a few years longer.
On Friday 16 August 2013 a meeting took place with the Council’s Highway Authority. Councillor John Taylor, Paul Barton, Jackie McDougal, Robbie Burn and Kevin Brown from Highways met in the village. Robbie Burn has provided the following summary of the decisions.

The representation of our views concerning the Council”s recent report into road safety in Powburn has been reported in the Berwick Advertiser and Northumberland Gazette.
On 8 July 2013 I attended the County Council’s Northern Area Committee Meeting to represent the views of Powburn residents regarding the Council’s recent (see Council Report Prepared). Robbie Burn was due to make the presentation but, unfortunately, was not able to attend, so I attended on his behalf.
I had 5 minutes to set out our outstanding concerns resulting from our consideration of the Council’s report.

I have just received a letter from the County Council informing us that they will not be fully discussing our petition until Monday 9th July. No reason has been given for the delay.
