Hot two-course meal
And the chance to meet with others in a relaxed manner
So, what is Lunch Club Powburn?
As an extension of the Warm Hubs project, Breamish Hall acts as a place where any ‘vulnerable’ person (perhaps someone living alone, finding it difficult to pay fuel bills or feeling isolated in a rural location) can find a safe, warm and friendly place where they can enjoy a healthy good-value meal, and the company of other people. While the LUNCH CLUB is particularly interested in helping such people, everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy a hot nutritious meal and socialise with friends (old and new) at the same time!
Planned meals include:
- healthy, nutritious soup/desert/tea or coffee
- one-pot stew with vegetables and dumplings/desert/tea or coffee
The Lunch Club in Powburn is a new venture and we expect it to develop over time. In the future, we hope to include some form of ‘entertainment’ – perhaps a talk about birds in the Breamish Valley or the Breamish Valley War Memorial Project; maybe even some live music or a craft demonstration. If you have any ideas, please feel free to let us know.
Who can come along?
As mentioned above, we’re particularly interested in encouraging people living alone and/or who feel isolated in some way and who would benefit from socialising with others. But…
EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
Please do feel free to come along. And if you have any visitors…bring them along too!
Should I let someone know that I’m coming along?
It would be helpful if you could let us know if you’ll be coming along to a Lunch Club. That way we can plan the cooking much more easily.
If possible, please contact:
7 Crawley View, Powburn NE66 4HJ
Tel: 01665 578576
However, if you’re not able to let us know you’ll be attending – just come along on the day anyway. We’d love to see you!
