While life has been difficult for everyone over the past few months during the lockdown, people experiencing fuel poverty continued to benefit from the services of the Northumberland Log Bank. Operating out of Wooler and Haydon Bridge, their services are invaluable to many residents in north Northumberland and in west Northumberland/Tynedale.
And the work goes on…
It’s clearly an ongoing task to source, cut, collect, store and deliver wood – but one undertaken with lots of enthusiasm by a team of trained volunteers.
Recently, Kate Thick (Founding Trustee) and volunteers Paul Cowie and James Ritchie – assisted by Jame’s dog Tiggy – were out and about collecting wood near Haydon Bridge.

Would you like to help?
Can you spare a few hours a week to help collect, prepare and deliver logs?
We’re looking for volunteers, especially those with appropriate skills or anyone interested in undergoing training: developing skills and knowledge around safeguarding are also essential.
