The automated external defibrillator in Powburn has been located outside the Plough Inn for a number of years. However, now that the pub has closed and been boarded up, the electricity to the defibrillator housing box has been shut off.
Consequently, this has resulted in the battery not being charged.
So, in the short term, the defibrillator has been removed from its housing to keep it in good condition.
Accordingly, there is currently no defibrillator in Powburn.
Relocation to Breamish Hall
Robbie Burn (Chair, Hedgeley Parish Council) has arranged for an electrician to remove the defibrillator housing/charging pack on Wednesday 6 January 2016.
It will then be fitted in the entrance to Breamish Hall (in the porch) on Saturday 9 January 2016. It should, therefore, be up and running as soon as possible.
