Christmas Warm Hub joy!
Thanks to May Wilson and her team of dedicated volunteers – who never stopped working or smiling! – a wonderful three-course Christmas dinner was served to around fifty people.
There was home roast turkey with all the trimmings, Christmas Plum Pudding (or lemon Posset), followed by freshly brewed tea or coffee accompanied with homemade mince pies. Simply wonderful!
And not only that, there was live music provided by the energetic – and witty- ‘Heads on the Block’, who played a medley of Celtic folk tunes, and their own variation on some of the more contemporary classics.
We’d like to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU to May Wilson and everyone involved in the Warm Hub committee. It’s gratifying to know that these self-giving people within our community are prepared to give up so much time to make Christmas a time of joy for so many others in the community.
And here are some images of what took place. If you missed it today, maybe you’ll give it a go next year. Or, if that’s too long to wait, why not come along to the next Warm Hub Lunch? They’re held on the first Tuesday of every month at 12 noon in the Breamish Hall.
