Child artist 2018 at the Powburn Show

An important contributor to the Powburn Show 2018 success was local child artist William Peto who won the Steve Donald Perpetual Memorial Shield for best exhibit in the Children’s Art Classes. Here is William receiving his deserved award from his grandmother Noreen Birnie (who is also a Powburn Show Committee Member).

And here is William’s amazing painting. He was inspired by artist Rebecca Vincent who attended his school and gave the children input on their work.

A talented family

William clearly comes from a talented family when it comes to creativity. His younger brother (5 years) won first prize with this wonderful piece of stitchery:

And here is his grandmother’s (Noreen Birnie) winning lilies – that smelled beautiful too!

And finally, William’s family also enjoyed success in the Sheep Section with their  Shetland gimmer that came first in the Jacob and Rare Breed Class.

Well done to everyone!

Kitty gets most points

In addition to William’s success, Kitty Oates also did extremely well to win the Carr-Ellison Perpetual Silver Challenge Cup for most points (confined) in all the Children’s Classes, including the Art Classes.
