WELL DONE to everyone who contributed to a successful Powburn Show 2023 – the first of the annual Cheviot Sheep & Horticultural Shows this year. Despite the warnings of heavy rain, plenty of visitors came along to enjoy a fun day out…and it didn’t rain!

Another image of the former Hedgeley Co-operative Society store in Powburn has been added to the Breamish Valley Photographic Collection: specifically, as part of the Breamish Hall Heritage Project investigating the history of the Breamish Hall.
We’re pleased to report that on Sunday 16 July 2023, Kay Wilkinson of ‘Cheviot View’ Powburn, together with her friends Sue, Moya, Stella and Hilary, completed their sponsored half marathon walk – their Mighty Hike in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Earlier today I wrote that we had secured funding to purchase licences for the use/publication of images of the former Hedgeley Co-operative Society store. At that time, two of the four obtained photographs had been published. I can now inform you that a third image has now been added.
As part of the Breamish Hall Heritage Project, we’ve been able to acquire licences to add two more images that extend our understanding of the ongoing history of the village hall in Powburn.
As part of the Ingram Village Hall Heritage Project, Len Glen-Davison has now published a history of the village hall in book form.
We’re pleased to announce that, as part of the Ingram Village Hall Heritage Project, an information board documenting a short history of Ingram Village Hall has now been produced.
