In co-operation with Community Action Northumberland (CAN) and Northumberland Archives, with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, a new project has begun to preserve, record, and share the heritage of the Breamish Village Hall for the benefit of the rural community it serves.
Following the disruptions caused by the pandemic last year, Hedgeley Women’s Institute is now able to announce that it has again fully opened its doors.

Recently there have been a few special services held in church to celebrate a wedding, a baptism and also a funeral.
Those of us who attend our church, including the Parochial Church Council (PCC), are pleased that the local community and those further afield have been able to celebrate these services in our church, particularly after what has been a rather challenging time since March 2020.

Readers may recall that in May 2020 Michael Wilson undertook a study of ‘nature connectedness and meaning in life‘ in the Northumberland National Park.
Among other findings, the research showed that green areas with rich biodiversity provide numerous opportunities to help people who connect with nature to make meaning in life. Consequently, any depletion of natural settings would diminish the benefits that these green spaces provide.
