Bulbs planted by local children

Following our call for help to plant bulbs in the Powburn Play Area, several children from Branton Community Primary School and Breamish Valley Nursery came along on 9 November 2021 to plant snowdrops and bluebells. They were accompanied by staff and parents from the school and nursery. In addition, a number of local residents came along as well – armed with trowels and smiling faces.

As always, the children were as enthusiastic and helpful as ever – eagerly getting stuck into the task of digging holes and popping in the bulbs. You can see what a great job they did…

Thanks!

A BIG THANK YOU to all the wonderful children who helped to make the Play Area so beautiful. We are so lucky to have such caring children who are always keen to help. Thanks must also, therefore, go to all the school staff and parents who are raising such thoughtful and considerate children.

And, of course, many thanks to those unsung adults who turned up to help. Your support is very much appreciated.

Finally, thanks to May Wilson (Chair Hedgeley Parish Council) for organising this event and to Zoë Ryan (Headteacher/SENDCo) for always finding the educational value in backing local projects.
